For the first time in the four weeks since I started eatin' raw I felt sad to not be eating the cooked foods at Christmas brunch yesterday. Sure I made raw yummies to eat and share and yet I started weakening when the deserts were served. Jo's cranberry crisp, Carol's "not-like-any-other" pumpkin pie and I swear the chocolate meringues (a treat I hadn't had since jr high) were softly and sweetly calling my name. But... alas... aha... this morning, the raw veggie nut loaf I made to bring yesterday, but it needed to 'meld' for 24 hours (didn't notice that part of the recipe) was ready. Just in the NICK of time... something fabulous for brunch. I enjoyed a vibrant plate of fresh veggies (carrots, sweetpeas and cukes), along with slices of the loaf and marinated baby portabellas. Y.U.M. Still practicing and remembering: I'm a great chef for my clients, and now... for myself, too. Yay!
